Mottled lilac endpapers (changed to pictures of the patty-pan in later editions). 52 pages. 7.25 x 5.5". First printing of the first edition. Slight wear to top and tail of spine and corners. Very faint mark to top corner of front cover. Inscription in ink dated Xmas 1905 on front endpaper. Faint browning to endpapers. Light mark to plate on page 18. One small margin mark. 2 hinges cracked. Contents near fine. A super copy.

George Routledge and Sons Limited. 1st ed1911. Good condition with no wrapper. More anthropomorphic cats. Illustrated in 21 colour plates by Louis Wain. Green cloth spine, pictorial paper boards. Accompanied by rhyme. Some light dampstaining to lower edge of front cover. Corners worn. Blue ink mark to rear cover. Covers a little grubby. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Hinge between half-title page and frontis split exposing rusty staples of binding. Light finger marks to margins. A few closed tears to margins, a couple of which have been repaired with now browned selotape. Illustrations are nice and bright. First few pages have vertical crease at inner edge.

DAYS IN CATLAND

Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd. 1st ed1912. Poor condition with no wrapper. A Father Tuck's Panorama. Oblong format. 4 plates in concertina form that fold out to create a large panorama with 14 numbered card figures of cats, and corresponding numbered slits in the panorama to insert the cat figures. On the reverse is a rhyme by Arthur Burnaby with b/w illustrations also by Wain. Each plate has now separated so that four individual plates are left. Plates are nice and bright. Six of the fourteen cat figures are missing. One cat figure is missing the head. Some figures a little creased. Rear cover grubby and torn where pocket was.

B/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped. Fading to cover edges. Light foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Contents clean. Original pictorial wrapper has an inscription in ink to front flap, is edge worn and torn with slight loss at corners, loss to top and tail of spine and 0.25" x 2" loss to top edge of rear panel. Spine and rear panel of wrapper grubby.
