Pall Mall Gazette. 1st. Almost very good condition with no wrapper. Two books bound in one. Peter is the story of Louis Wain's own cat with b/w illustrations. Teufel is Carrington's dog and is illustrated in b/w by Carrington. Pages: 88 (Peter) + 90 (Teufel). Blue cloth. Gilt title on spine is 'Peter - Teufel'. Peter is 1st edition 1892. Teufel is 4th edition 1891. Covers unevenly faded. Corners bumped and worn. One inch split to top of spine. Small marks to covers. Inscription in ink to verso of front endpaper. A few margin marks and scattered foxing. Contents generally clean. A decent copy of this scarce early Wain, rare with additional title. [S] Price: £480.00

Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd.. 1st. 1912. Poor condition. A Father Tuck's Panorama. Oblong format. 4 plates in concertina form that fold out to create a large panorama with 14 numbered card figures of cats, and corresponding numbered slits in the panorama to insert the cat figures. On the reverse is a rhyme by Arthur Burnaby with b/w illustrations also by Wain. Each plate has now separated (the spine has completely gone) so that four individual plates are left. Plates are nice and bright. Six of the fourteen cat figures are missing. One cat figure is missing the head. Some figures a little creased. Rear cover grubby and torn where pocket flap was (pocket flap missing). [S] Price: £600.00

Thirteen illustrations to the text including five colour. Staple binding as issued. Minor foxing to covers. Contents lightly marked by fingering. Originally published in a concertina-style panorama format, this is the small book format. This is first in the BOOK format identified by the rear endpapers - poster to rear endpaper does NOT mention Tom Kitten's Painting Book. Base of spine and top corners very slightly bumped. Small patch of surface paper loss to front endpaper. Inscription in ink dated 1918 to half-title. A couple of hinges pulled. One page has a very small closed edge-tear.
